How do you check a Sydney installer is licensed?
Before an electrician joins our Sydney network we ask for their current NSW electrical licence details and check them against the state regulator's public register. Licences are re-checked when they come up for renewal.
Are your Sydney installers insured?
Yes. We ask every Sydney installer for a current certificate of currency for public liability insurance before we refer any work to them.
Can any electrician install an EV charger in Sydney?
Hard-wiring an EV charger is electrical work that must be carried out by a licensed electrician, but not every licensed electrician does EV work regularly. We only refer electricians who hold a current NSW licence and install home chargers as routine work under NSW Fair Trading requirements.
Will I get a compliance certificate in NSW?
Yes. Your independent licensed electrician issues a Certificate of Compliance for Electrical Work once the job is complete. Keep it for your insurer and any future property sale.
Is a home EV charger installation safe?
It is, when it is installed by a licensed electrician on a dedicated protected circuit to the AS/NZS 3000 wiring rules. Modern wall chargers also include DC leakage protection, over-current protection and thermal monitoring.
