Privacy Policy
Last updated: June 2026
EV Charger Specialist ("we", "us", "our") respects your privacy. This policy explains how we collect, use, store, share and disclose your personal information, in line with the Australian Privacy Principles under the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and applicable state laws.
This policy also covers information we collect when you interact with our advertising on Meta platforms (Facebook and Instagram), including via Facebook Lead Ads.
1. What we collect
We collect personal information you give us, including:
- Your full name
- Phone number and email address
- Suburb and/or postcode
- Whether you have off-street parking
- Your EV make/model or preferred charger brand (if provided)
- Any other details you include in messages or enquiries
We also collect technical information automatically when you visit our website, including IP address, device and browser type, pages viewed, referring URL, and interaction events, via cookies and similar technologies (including the Meta Pixel and Conversions API).
2. How we collect it
We collect your information when you:
- Submit our quote form on this website
- Submit a Facebook Lead Ad or Instagram lead form for EV Charger Specialist (Meta passes the form responses to us)
- Email, call or message us directly
- Interact with our ads, posts or messages on Meta platforms
3. Why we collect it (purpose)
We collect and use your information to:
- Match you with a vetted, licensed local electrician so they can prepare a quote and contact you about your EV charger installation
- Contact you by phone, SMS, email and/or messaging platforms in response to your enquiry, including follow-up if we don't reach you first time
- Send you relevant information about your enquiry, quotes, installation options, rebates and our service
- Measure and improve our advertising on Meta and other platforms (including conversion tracking and lookalike audiences)
- Maintain records, comply with the law and respond to disputes
4. Who we share it with
The most important point: when you submit our quote form or a Facebook/Instagram lead form, your details (name, contact details, suburb/postcode and the answers you provided) will be shared with one or more independent, licensed electrical contractors in our network so they can contact you to provide a quote.
We may also share your information with:
- Service providers who help us run the business — CRM, email, SMS and call tracking platforms, hosting providers, analytics tools and lead-management tools
- Meta Platforms (Facebook/Instagram) via the Meta Pixel and Conversions API for advertising measurement and optimisation. Data sent to Meta may be hashed where applicable.
- Google (analytics and advertising) and similar advertising/analytics platforms we use from time to time
- Regulators, law-enforcement or other parties where required by law
We do not sell your personal information to unrelated third parties for their own marketing.
5. Marketing communications
By submitting an enquiry, you consent to being contacted about your request and about related services we think will interest you. You can opt out of marketing communications at any time by replying STOP to an SMS, clicking unsubscribe in an email, or emailing us. You'll still receive transactional messages about your specific enquiry.
6. Cookies, the Meta Pixel and advertising
We use cookies and similar technologies on this website. We also use the Meta Pixel and the Meta Conversions API to measure ad performance, optimise our ads, and build custom and lookalike audiences for our Facebook and Instagram advertising.
You can control how Meta uses your data via your Meta Ad Preferences. You can also control browser cookies through your browser settings.
7. Storage and security
We store your information on systems hosted in Australia and overseas (including with reputable cloud providers). We take reasonable steps to protect it from misuse, loss and unauthorised access, but no online transmission is 100% secure.
8. Overseas disclosure
Some of our service providers (including Meta and analytics platforms) are based overseas, including in the United States and Europe. By using our service, you consent to your information being disclosed to recipients in those countries for the purposes set out in this policy.
9. Retention
We keep your personal information only for as long as we need it for the purposes above, or as required by law. Enquiries we don't proceed with are typically retained for up to 24 months for business records and advertising attribution, then deleted or de-identified.
10. Your rights
You have the right to:
- Access the personal information we hold about you
- Ask us to correct it if it's inaccurate
- Ask us to delete it (subject to our legal obligations)
- Withdraw consent and unsubscribe from marketing
- Make a complaint about how we've handled your information
To exercise any of these rights, email us at privacy@evchargerspecialist.com.au. We aim to respond within 30 days.
11. Complaints
If you're not satisfied with how we've handled your information, you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) at oaic.gov.au.
12. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The current version is always available at this URL. Material changes will be highlighted at the top of the page.
